Popping out between the Spring showers.

Between working and the weather, it’s been a bit difficult to get out in the garden this week.
I managed to take a few pictures pretty quick, before the rain came back. I had gone out to top up the seed and nut feeders and as usual, toss some seed for the blackies on to the grass. There are a few baby blackbirds in the garden still.
I’ve noticed the bullfinches back again on the seed feeder, the Male is so pretty coloured.
I’ve chased a few wood pigeons away, I appreciate some people like them, I am not so keen. Messy in a tiny garden.
I’ve fed the goldfish in the pond, although, Toby the cat thinks he’s missing out on food! He has amazing metabolism this cat!
Anyway just a few pictures added on to the blog. Enjoying the advice and lovely feedback on this fab site! ;)

I think the last one is definitely a weed of sorts sprouting up! I just added it as I liked the bright green colour!

Hi Kate, your garden is way ahead of mine, my Hosta's are only just poking through, I like the photo 3rd down, is it a Ceanothus ? very nice, Derek.

Thanks Meadowland and Derek, much appreciated!
I think this hosta is fully open as it’s a bit sheltered. My others are slowly opening up..Yep, it’s a ceanothus, I’ve planted it highish up on a rockery bed. It’s peaked recently with the flowers, think the rain and wind had a hand in it!

Hi Kate, it still has plenty flowers on it, very nice, Derek.

some beautiful photos of gorgeous plants. I like the hosta and the fern in particular. that's a pretty Rhododendron too. our weather has been duff hasn't it. Have lots of washing to get dry. I foolishly washed curtains as it was sunny and breezy this morning. didn't last.

Thank you Seaburngirl, that’s kind. Yes, it’s been rubbishy weather all week...the sunshine didn’t last very long this morning like you said! Well, if Look North gets the forecast right, we should see some fine weather ahead!

Thank you Dawn, I just wish the back garden was bigger. I’d be adding lots and lots of plants. :)

Some lovely close-ups there, all looking healthy, are you sure the last photo is a weed?

13 May, 2019

Thanks DD, that’s kind. Yeah, I’m not really sure about the last one? I didn’t plant it..may be something the birds kindly brought in! :))
I’ll keep an eye on it and see how things progress!

Thanks Thrup! Keep trying to encourage wildlife! We are very lucky round here, think the big wild bund/hill helps!

Water iste sin thing that brings in wild ife but it also can bring in unwanted wildlife like rats like to have nests by ponds and I get pigeons and their muck.

14 May, 2019

Very true! We haven’t seen a rat for a couple of years, we live right next to the river. We have a nut feeder and a seed feeder, a couple of water dishes and a fish pond..I agree, blinking pigeons! Nightmare. Lots of noise and mess! I shoo them away all the time!

Rats love the nuts that's what they go for. Yes the pigeons mess allup my path so most times I can't get up my garden as they sit on the trees from the churcheven before I had water. It costs a fortune in water to clean the path.

I loved the last two photos. I’d be really curious to see what the last one turns into!

Thanks Fuzexi, me too! Hopefully it'll be something interesting!
